Objective To construct an early enteral nutrition tolerance monitoring system for ICU patients and to apply it into the practice. Methods The enteral nutrition tolerance score table was revised, and on this basis, the early enteral nutrition tolerance monitoring system of ICU patients was constructed to collect relevant data in real time. Using the convenient sampling method,120 patients with early enteral nutrition treated in ICU of a tertiary A hospital in Zhejiang Province from March to August 2021 were selected as the research subjects. The monitoring system was used to evaluate the tolerance to enteral nutrition of the experimental group;the revised enteral nutrition tolerance rating scale was used to evaluate the control group;the enteral nutrition scheme was dynamically adjusted according to the evaluation results. The incidence of feeding intolerance within 7 days of enteral nutrition, the target feeding rate, and the difference of albumin, serum total protein and hemoglobin concentrations between the 8th day and the 1st day of enteral nutrition were compared between the 2 groups, and the nurses’ satisfaction with the monitoring system was collected. Results The incidence of feeding intolerance in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group;the target feeding rate was higher than that in the control group;the difference of albumin, serum total protein and hemoglobin concentrations between the 8th day and the 1st day of enteral nutrition was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05). The total average score of nurses’ satisfaction with the monitoring system was(4.51±0.31). Conclusion The use of early enteral nutrition tolerance monitoring system for ICU patients can effectively reduce the incidence of early enteral nutrition intolerance, improve the target feeding rate and improve the nutritional status of patients. Nurses are highly satisfied with the monitoring system.
